Having assessed the growth potential of the UK IT services SME sub-segment, BDC, alongside an experienced external group CEO, identified Lumison as a buy and build platform from which to develop a broader and deeper IT services provider. It completed its first investment in March 2010 with the acquisition of data centre based provider of co-location services, Blue Square Data. Through the investment in Lumison and subsequent additional acquisitions, BDC believes that it can build a fully integrated, high quality, medium-sized IT services provider.
